"The Big Bang Theory" show runner Steve Molaro recently dished on the future of Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki). According to him, the couple will continue to journey to Las Vegas, but the premiere episode of season 9 will reveal whether or not they actually wed.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Molaro said that Penny and Leonard's relationship could go both ways. First, the couple may decide to continue with their relationship and move past Leonard's infidelity.
On the other hand, Leonard's confession might take a toll on Penny while they are on their way to Las Vegas.
During the last episode of season 8, Penny acted as though she was okay with Leonard's honesty. However, it was evident on her face that she was hurt. With this, fans are also speculating that Penny and Leonard could potentially split.
More specifically, Molaro added that Leonard's infidelity will be addressed in the early episodes of season 9, Christian Post reported.
Meanwhile, Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy's (Mayim Bialik) relationship will also take center stage in the upcoming ninth season of the hit CBS series.
According to Molaro, only time will tell whether or not the estranged onscreen couple would reunite once again. However, to appease Sheldon and Amy's fans, Molaro added that the couple is just fond of each other so it might be difficult for them to completely end their relationship.
Will Penny and Leonard wed and will Sheldon and Amy get back together? Find out in the premiere episode of "The Big Bang Theory" this coming fall.
