"The Big Bang Theory" season 8 finale aired on May 7, Thursday, with relationships between Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting), between Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik), and Raj (Kunal Nayyar) and Emily (Laura Spencer) were put to test.
Most of "The Big Bang Theory" season 8 finale episode dealt with Leonard and Penny, who are unintentionally led to assess their relationship when Sheldon mentions that they have not set a wedding date yet despite being engaged for a year.
"It doesn't matter if we get married tomorrow or a year from now or 50 years from now," Leonard says pointing out that he and Penny love each other.
After Penny tells Leonard that she does not have any plans for the evening, the two decide to get in their car and elope in Las Vegas. During their trip, Leonard confesses to Penny that he got drunk and kissed another woman years ago when they were still dating but not yet engaged.
Penny does not take the confession well because of the timing. For her, Leonard is sabotaging their Las Vegas wedding. After Leonard assures Penny that he is wholly committed to the wedding, the two agree to go through with it.
Looking hesitant of their plans and their future together, Leonard and Penny drive on.
Sheldon and Amy's relationship is also examined in "The Big Bang Theory" season 8 finale episode. Although they clearly love each other, it is still unclear to Sheldon that Amy is not happy with the slow progress of their relationship.
As for Raj, he finds Emily too weird for him so he has decided to break up with her. He is supposed to break up with her when she takes him to make out in a graveyard but instead, he ends up telling her that he loves her.
