College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) of The State University of New York (SUNY) has released the top 10 new species for the year 2015. The list features a feathered dinosaur nicknamed Chicken from Hell and some other crazy creatures.
The Top 10 New Species For The Year 2015 Arranged In Alphabetical Order
1. Feathered Dinosaur - Anzu wyliei: This dinosaur is extinct. It is a combination of bird and dinosaur and it lived in North America. This species is believed to have lived on floodplains. In North and South Dakota as well as in the Hell Creek Formation, three well-preserved skeletons in a partial form were discovered. They are called "chicken from Hell" for being chicken-sized. The body mass of feathered dinosaur is 200-300 kg.
2. Coral Plant - Balanophora coralliformis: This species is from the Philippines and at the time of the discovery, they were considered endangered. They are found on Mt. Mingan, Aurora Province, Luzon.
3. Cartwheeling Spider - Cebrennus rechenbergi: They spin in the sand. It is known to cartwheel their way out of danger. It can spin the web on the ground as well as on hills. It is typically found in northern Erg Chebbi, Er Rachidia in Morocco.
4. The X-Phyla - Dendrogramma enigmatica: These multicellular animals that look like mushrooms are related to the phylum Cnidaria or the family of jellyfish, sea anemones or it can also be related to Ctenophora. They are found in Australia.
5. Bone-house Wasp - Deuteragenia ossarium: In order to protect its offspring, this unique creature makes a nest in hollow stems. It has cells and the wasp kills a spider and keeps it in each cell for nourishment. This species is found in the Gutianshan National Nature Reserve of Zhejiang Province, China.
6. Indonesian Frog - Limnonectes larvaepartus: This unique frog has the ability to give birth to small froglets. It is found in Sulawesi, Indonesia, Dunu Village, Gorontalo Provinsi.
7. Walking Stick - Phryganistria tamdaoensis: The walking stick belongs to the family of giant sticks and is 9 inches long. It is found in Tam Dao National Park.
8. Sea Slug - Phyllodesmium acanthorhinum: This sea slug is on the list for being extremely beautiful. The species is found in the Japanese islands.
9. Bromeliad - Tillandsia religiosa: This plant flat green leaves and spikes that are rose colored. It has been known to people for quite a long time, however, it has been discovered recently.
10. Pufferfish - Torquigener albomaculosus: This fish is known to make unusual circles on the seafloor that looks like crop circles. These are created by the male species to attract females. They are found off the coast of Ryuku Islands and Amami-Oshima Island.
