A source told E! News that Harpo Studios was involved in the tipping off of the molestation to the police as relayed in the police report although no further details were upcoming. According to the report, there was apparently a plan to interview some of the Duggars in the "Oprah Winfrey Show."

On Dec. 7, 2006, Harpo Studios received an email from someone claiming that Duggar had molested minor victims and the Duggars were "not what they seem to be." In the report, the authorities blacked out the names of the accused and the alleged victims. Harpo Studios was said to have alerted the Arkansas State Police Child Abuse Hotline.

The police report reveals that on Dec. 12, 2006 at 9 a.m., the Springdale Police Department received a copy of the email sent to Winfrey's studio. On the same day, "19 Kids And Counting" parents Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar brought their eldest son to the Children's Safety Center in Springdale to be questioned regarding the allegations.

In addition, the police report states that the father of the accused told authorities that his son had admitted to multiple instances of molestation, which have taken place in 2002 and 2003. Subsequently, the accused had spent four months in a counseling program in 2003.
