Mitch Kupchak, Los Angeles Lakers general manager stated that Kobe Bryant told him that the next season will be Bryant's last one with the Lakers. The GM told during an interview about Bryant's decision.
Kupchak appeared on SiriusXM NBA Radio on Thursday and stated that Bryant has indicated to him that it is time.
In Bryant's final contract season, he is set to make $25 million with the Lakers. Kupchak informed SiriusXM NBA Radio that Bryant "is on the last year of a deal," via ESPN.
He added that there are no discussions about a way forward and he doesn't think there will be any.
Kupchak also talked about the speculations of Bryant continuing to play after the next season. He said that "if there's something different to discuss, then it will be discussed then."
The general manager also mentioned that he is not sure if the next tour will be a farewell. He said that it depends on the player.
"And it also may take away some options a year from now and put a player in an awkward position, but he will be recognized appropriately with great gratitude when it is time."
He noted that there was a time when Bryant was involved in the various decisions made by the organization. However, later he backed away and stated that the guys know what they are doing.

Now, it has to be seen if the next season will be Bryant's last or not.
