Rumors continue to brew over Apple's highly anticipated tablet, the iPad Pro. Industry experts claim that Apple is designing a 12-inch version of the iPad.
According to Absolute Gadget, the iPad Pro will be available in four variants depending on its storage capacity; 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and a 128 GB model. Apple has yet to confirm this but many are speculating that the tablet will have a 12.9-inch display on a body measuring 305.70mm x 222.60mm x 7.20mm.
Apple might base the tablet's design on the thin chassis and bezel of the iPad Air. However, many claim that the iPad Pro will not be as thin as the iPad Air which is only 6.1mm thin.
For the tablet's processor, it was thought to be the 3-core A8X processor which was announced along with the iPad 2. However, many suggest that Apple might favor the newer next generation A9 processor. According to Value Walk, Apple's long time manufacturing partner Foxconn is already lined up to be the exclusive manufacturer of the iPad Pro.
The iPad Pro's high-resolution display will be manufactured by LG. A spokesperson from LG said, "Investment to produce 30,000 sheets next year's second quarter have started. Apple is creating iPads with 12.9-inch display, which shows they are increasing the panel size."
Taking cues from the iPad Air 2, the iPad Pro is expected to have a display capable of rendering 2K resolution. Rumors claim that Apple is working on a model that will support 4K resolution as well.
Apple has yet to confirm the official release date of the iPad Pro. Industry experts on the other hand are expecting the tablet in August.
