The widely popular video game "Minecraft" will finally face a major competition after Lego released its own version of the sandbox game dubbed "Lego Worlds."
Players who want to try the game while still in beta stage can purchase it via Steam Early Access for $17. "Lego World" will be released on the Windows PC platform. Future support for other platforms and console is still unconfirmed.
TT Games, developer of "Lego World," promises procedurally-generated worlds complete with terraforming tools, according to Kotaku. The developers claim that the game is already complete, however the extended beta stage was implemented in order to make sure that any bugs and glitches will be covered before the game's official release. While in beta stage, TT Games will be accepting gamer feedbacks in order to create a more balanced and immersive game.
TT Games said that the beta stage will be done before the end of 2015 and the company targets early 2016 as the estimated release window for the game.
Minimum system requirement for the game includes at least 2.0 GHz of processor speed with 2 gigabytes of RAM, according to Game Debate. For its graphics card, the game requires at least a GeForce GT 240 or Radeon HD 5570 or any equivalent . It also requires DirectX 9 or later versions and at least 10 gigabyte of hard drive storage.
Released as a direct competitor to Microsoft's "Minecraft," the game will have big boots to fill in order to match the popularity of its perceived rival. Currently, "Minecraft" is the most watched video game on YouTube. Originally developed by Mojang, "Minecraft" was acquired by Microsoft for $2.5 billion in 2014.
