Various smart and wearable gadgets that can perform a range of tasks--from analyzing one’s state of mind to identifying burglars--will be featured in Computex tech trade show from June 2-6, according to a report by the Agence France Presse.
The show, touted as Asia's largest tech trade show, will be held in Taipei, Taiwan's capital city. Some 1,700 exhibitors from Taiwan and 130,000 visitors from other countries around the world are expected to join the five-day exhibit, which is now on its 35th year.
"Smart living and wearable technology remain the focus, but visitors will find more mature products," David Liu of the Taipei Computer Association was quoted as saying.
The report said that the show will include some of the latest products in home security that enable users to automatically receive images of any intruders into their home.
The exhibit will also have a dedicated area for wearables such as smart watches, fabrics and glasses, including a new device that can measure stress levels by analyzing mind waves.
The organizers said that mobile technology and 3D innovations will also be key areas of this year's show.
The show was held in time as Taiwan is trying to maintain its tech edge over China, its tough competitor.
Last month, Taiwan showed a low growth forecast in the tech industry and blamed it on intense competition from the mainland.
Industry experts said that Taiwan must innovate if it wants to stay ahead in the industry, especially in the growing Internet of Things (IoT) market.
