The "Pitch Perfect 2" soundtrack continues to dominate the charts along with Taylor Swift and A$Ap Rocky's albums.
When the sequel to the movie sparked huge interest for the musical mash-ups of its talented cast opened in cinemas in mid-May, the motion picture soundtrack album soared to the number one spot of the Billboard 200 album chart.
After three weeks, the "Pitch Perfect 2" motion picture soundtrack was edged out by rapper A$AP Rocky's album "At.Long.Last.A$AP" followed by Swift's "1989" but has remained at number four for the week ending June 13.
"Pitch Perfect 2" was directed by Elizabeth Banks, who also stars in the film together with Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and other female stars. Hailee Steinfeld joins the cast of the sequel as Emily Junk. The movie features cameo appearances by Shonda Rhimes and the hunky men of The Green Bay Packers.
The "Pitch Perfect 2" soundtrack is regarded as a "superior soundtrack" in many aspects, according to Crave Online. It features a composition by Sia and Sam Smith titled "Flashlight," which was performed by Jesse J.
