Fans of Ben and Dr. Miranda Bailey have one reason to celebrate. The creators of "Grey's Anatomy" recently confirmed that actor Jason Winston George has been promoted as a series regular.
Following such report, George took his thoughts to Twitter to thank Shonda Rhimes herself. "Thank you, @ShondaRhimes! Y'all are gonna have 2 deal w/me and the whole @GreysABC family for a while now!" he tweeted.
Meanwhile, George's inclusion as a regular cast member came after it was revealed that Rhimes is currently searching for a male doctor to replace Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), according to TV Line.
According to reports, Rhimes is in need of an actor who could pass as a surgeon and one who is also good looking and charismatic, very much like McDreamy.
With this report, fans are now speculating that the new doctor could possibly be Meredith Grey's (Ellen Pompeo) new love interest.
According to Christian Today, it is also possible that ABC and Rhimes are just looking for a new cast member without the necessary intention of pairing him up with Meredith.
Fans were unhappy with Rhimes' decision to kill of one of their most favorite characters on "Grey's Anatomy." This is why it is not advisable for Rhimes to immediately find a new love interest for Meredith.
As of late, these spoilers are merely just speculations because Rhimes has been awfully quiet when it comes to revealing information about the upcoming season. However, knowing her, anything can certainly happen in season 12.
"Grey's Anatomy" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
