Fans of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" now have a reason to check out the latest game of the franchise, titled "Star Wars: Uprising." This is the second game slated for the franchise that bridges the events in the "Star Wars" universe in preparation for the latest movie.
"Star Wars: Uprising" is aimed at the mobile franchise, and will reportedly be a role-playing game that serves as a transition from "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi" to "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" coming this December. Developer Kabam has stated that the title will include some RPG experience, and as The Verge reported, it will also allow co-op with friends.
Other features of the game includes character customization and exploration of the Star Wars infamous locations. A trailer is already available for "Star Wars: Uprising," and from the looks of it, the game will deliver as more than a tie-in title with the movie.
Between the cast of developers involved with project, spearheaded by Daniel Erickson who has worked on the likes of "Star Wars: The Old Republic," and the visually-appealing trailer seen below, the story does provide a few hints for those who want a holistic experience once the movie releases.
The other game that "Star Wars" fans can look forward to is "Star Wars: Battlefront," which is coming to the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Developed by EA, it provides extensive world exploration, character customization, and shooter gameplay experiences.
Games aside, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" continues to receive some interesting hints as the release date draws nearer. The possibility of Wicket being in the movie came from some data finding by Making Stars Wars. For those who need a little refreshing, Wicket is the Ewok who became Chief of Bright Tree Village.
As per the report, the press book that came from the tour made in Japan had listed Warwick Davis as part of the cast. Davis had played Wicket in previous films. However, while this listing may not prove Warwick's reprising of his role, the fact that Ewoks are part of the story line may be supportive of this speculation.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is set hit theaters on Dec. 16. As for the two games bridging story lines, fans can check them out before heading to the movies. "Star Wars: Uprising" is set for fall this year, while "Star Wars: Battlefront" will be released on Nov.17.
