Despite Google keeping its silence about the current status of Nexus 5 (2015), this did not deter rumors and speculations from making waves over the tech community. The most recent and probably intriguing of all these is the rumor claiming that Nexus 5 (2015) will feature Android Pay as well as a Fingerprint Scanner.
Rumors claim that the upcoming Nexus 5 (2015) will come in two models. One model is reportedly developed by LG and was dubbed "Bullhead." The second one called "Angler" is rumored to be developed by Huawei.
According to Latino Post, the Nexus 5 (2015) Bullhead will have 5.2-inch display with 2,700 mAh battery and is rumored to have the Snapdragon 808 processor. On the other hand, the Nexus 5 (2015) Angler will have a bigger 5.7-inch screen with 3,500 mAh battery and a more powerful Snapdragon 810 processor.
Android Pay is Google's successor to the botched Google Wallet. During its Google I/O 2015 presentation, the company announced that the new Android Pay service will be supported by more than 700,000 stores all over the United States. Much like the Apple Pay, Android Pay will offer contactless payment and will use Near-Field Communication technology.
According to BGR, in order to provide additional layer of security to the recently announced Android Pay, Google will be supporting a crucial new feature for Fingerprint Scanners. Android OEM's in the past have already released smartphones with fingerprint scanner support but this is the first time that the feature will be fully integrated into the Android operation system itself.
Aside from Android Pay and the rumored support for fingerprint scanner, Google is also working on addressing concerns regarding limited battery life of devices running on the Android platform. In order to remedy this problem, Google is developing a new feature called Doze.
