Rihanna attended the NBA Finals Game 1 to cheer for Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James, which Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob did not appreciate at all. During the game, the two were next each other at the courtside.
When Rihanna constantly cheered for James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, Lacob gradually became so irritated that he had to switch seats with his fiancée Nicole Curran. Even after informing her that he owns the Golden State Warriors, Lacob said Rihanna did not care.
Rihanna and James are said to be good friends. In fact, Kanye West and Paul McCartney's "FourFiveSeconds" collaborator reportedly hopped on the Cleveland Cavaliers small forward's private plane to catch the NBA Finals Game 1, Hollywood Life has learned.
Lacob clarified that he did not give Rihanna the courtside seats. He said Chris Brown's former girlfriend bought the seats and paid a lot of money for them so she can root for whoever she wants.
On the other hand, Lacob said that he thought he would be a nice guy and took his two children, who go to many games, and booted them down to the end of the court. After moving Rihanna next to him, he told her, "Hey, sit next to the owner."
For Lacob, the gesture was a nice thing to do as he thought he was being friendly. But since Rihanna was rooting for James the entire game, he had to remind her that he is the Golden State Warriors owner but she did not care and just kept going.
"So, finally I said, 'That's it.' And I moved a couple seats down," Lacob recalled, as CBS Sports quoted him as saying. "Everyone has it that I moved my fiancee next to her because she got upset that I was sitting next to Rihanna which is not true."
