Samsung Galaxy S6 Active, the "rugged" variant of the Galaxy S6, is reportedly unveiling soon. Leaked photos and details reveal a durable, water-resistant phone made for those with active lifestyle.
the upcoming S6 Active will be sporty in style and more resistant to water and damage, thanks to leaks made by none other than Samsung, Digital Trends speculated . Although some features of the previous Active versions will be upgraded in this model, tech fans note that not many changes will be seen.
For instance, S6 Active retains the 5.1-inch QHD with Super AMOLED touchscreen, 1440 x 2560 resolution, Exynos 7420 chipset and the 2,550 mAh battery, which are all featured in Galaxy S6, Pulse Headlines reported.
When compared to previous Active models like the S5 Active, S6 Active retains the standard heart rate sensor, 16-megapixel rear camera and physical buttons on the screen for easier access during any activities. In contrast, it upgraded to 3GB RAM from the original 2GB, still without memory support, and to 5-megapixel from 2-megapixel front camera.
Moreover, its casing is more durable and its water resistance rating is higher than the previous models, according to a user manual uploaded early June on AT&T's website. The leaked manual indirectly confirmed that Samsung's S6 Active is indeed in the works.
AT&T on June 4 teased Samsung fans again with a tweet: "Only one thing is missing from your workout. It's almost time to activate your full power." Tech fans highly suspect it referred to S6 Active because of the word "activate," although the phone in the photo was blocked off.
Fans also look forward to its pixelated camouflage color scheme, which looks better than the S5 Active cover. However, there are no reports about Galaxy S6 Active's pricing and release date, although it could be around April or May next year, according to traditions.
