June 26, Friday, may be a bit far from being another regular day, at least, in Taiwan, as the Apple Watch finally becomes available on this part of Asia.
Apple made the announcement on June 4 and posted it on its website. The press release said that people could buy the Apple Watch via Apple’s online store and retail stores and from its authorized resellers.
Jeff Williams, Apple’s senior vice president of operations, said that they are “thrilled to bring it to more customers around the world.”
Apple initially sold its smartwatch in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the United Kingdom and the U.S. It was first introduced to the public in April.
The Apple Watch, described by the company as its “most personal device yet,” comes in three collections. The prices are no less than $300 and can go as high as $10,000.
The most expensive collection is the Apple Watch Edition at a minimum of $10,000 apiece. The watches are in rose or yellow 18-karat gold alloys.
Another collection is simply called Apple Watch. The prices range from $549 to $1,099.
The most affordable collection when compared to the two previously mentioned ones is the Apple Watch Sport. It retails at $349 and $399.
The wearable device can justify its prices by its sophisticated look and “revolutionary technologies.” It features Digital Crown, Retina display with Force Touch and Taptic Engine.
With Digital Crown, Apple said that users can “scroll, zoom and navigate fluidly without obstructing the display.” The Retina display with Force Touch, on the other hand, “senses the difference between a tap and a press.”
When the wearer gets a message or notification, the Taptic Engine will give a “gentle tap” on the wrist.
Interested buyers must own an iPhone for them to use the Apple Watch. Apple said that one must have an iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8.2 or later.
Residents of Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Spain and Switzerland can also buy the Apple Watch starting June 26.
