"Captain America: Civil War," the movie slated to be released in 2016, will feature several major characters from Marvel Universe such as Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Black Panther, Winter Soldier, Falcon, The Vision, Hawkeye, Ant Man, Scarlet Witch, War Machine and more. The movie will also see Martin Freeman in a role that is still unspecified, the new Spider-Man and Stan Lee in cameo role.
However, there is one important Marvel character that will remain absent from the highly anticipated "Captain America: Civil War." In a recent interview with Collider, actor Samuel Jackson revealed that his Marvel character, who happens to be the S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury, will not be the part of ensemble cast of Anthony and Joe Russo's movie.
Samuel L. Jackson, the actor who has portrayed Nick Fury in seven Marvel movies, expressed his surprise in the interview about the big revelation.
"I'm not in Captain America 3. I can't figure that out, but I'm not," Samuel L. Jackson told the aforementioned publication. He seems clueless about what happened to the S.H.I.E.L.D. considering Nick Fury's absence in the movie.
"I guess I'm still out there, trying to figure out what happened to S.H.I.E.L.D. and who these other people are," the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" actor continued.
The aforementioned publication speculates that Samuel L. Jackson will reprise the role of Nick Fury in two-part "Avengers: Infinity War." And the actor is looking forward for the "extension" of the contract.
Entertainment publication IGN notes that the actor will be seen in two more Marvel movies since he signed nine-movie contract. However, he has "no idea" which two.
"Captain America: Civil War" is expected to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd and others. The film will hit the theaters on May 6, 2016.
