Caitlyn Jenner, who revealed her new identity on Vanity Fair cover on May 31, is facing another lawsuit in connection with a fatal car crash involving her. The accident happened on a Southern California highway on Feb. 7, when she was known as Bruce Jenner.
The recent lawsuit is filed in Los Angeles Superior Court by Jessica Marie Steindorff, who claims that the former Olympian operated the vehicle "recklessly and wantonly," causing the fatal collision. The lawsuit, targeted at "Bruce Jenner a/k/a Caitlyn Jenner," is seeking lost wages and more than $25,000 in damages, Los Angeles Times reported.
Steindorff was admitedly present in one of the vehicles, when her Prius rear-ended by a white Lexus, which was in turn hit by the black Cadillac Escalade SUV from behind. The SUV was driven by the 65-year-old reality TV star.
The impact was reportedly so huge that the white Lexus was thrown into oncoming traffic, where it collided with a black Hummer H2. The driver of the Lexus, Kim Howe of Calabasas, 69, died on the spot.
In addition to the fatality, five children and two adults were also hospitalized with injuries from the accident. The TV star emerged unhurt from the crash, took a field sobriety test and was released later, CNN reported.
Steindorff, a Hollywood talent manager, who also represents super model Alessandra Ambrosio, has claimed in her court papers that even after the Lexus was hit, the TV star's SUV continued moving and slammed into her car.
The reality TV star is already facing a lawsuit filed by Howe's adult step children, William Howe and Dana Redmond, in which they claim that they have suffered "enormous damages and losses" due to the reckless driving. Meanwhile, their action is facing criticism as they are reportedly financially independent and were reportedly not in touch with Howe when she was alive.
