The Moto X (2014) Pure Edition started receiving the Android 5.1 Lollipop update a couple of weeks ago. However, the software company Motorola has now halted the Android update for the Pure Edition.
A bug was found in the Android update which has forced the company to halt the roll out, according to GSMArena.
David Schuster, Motorola's Senior Director of Software Product Management, said that they ended up detecting a problem that they want to correct before moving to full deployment. He further said that
they have come up with a fix for the bug and they are presently testing the fix internally.
The tech giant Motorola expects to submit the updated firmware to carriers for testing and get a fast approval in a couple of weeks. However, it is not known when Motorola will resume the roll out. According to Android Headlines, a lot of users are upset about the delay.
Meanwhile, Android 5.1 Lollipop update may roll out to Moto X (2013) in the coming weeks. Schuster said that if testing goes well, the Android 5.1 update may arrive within the coming weeks. They have addressed an issue they discovered in a previous soak test and should begin full soak testing in Brazil and the United States for retail later this week. If everything goes well, full deployment can take place the upcoming week.
Schuster further said that they have started full soak testing in Germany and France and updates for users of Moto X in those regions should follow a same timeline.
