OnePlus is holding two contests for those who want to experience the OnePlus Two. This is part of the promotional teaser for the upcoming release of the company's newest smartphone.
The two contest are called "Photo Mania 2015" and "Your OnePlus Story," Phone Arena reported. Photo Mania 2015 invites OnePlus One owners to take the best picture that they can using Instagram. The catch is that they have to use the OnePlus One camera and that the image cannot be edited or filtered. Best to have the original JPEG in case the entry enters the finals round.
The second contest is all about shooting a video and showing why the contestant loves the OnePlus One smartphone. In addition, the video should show what they would want to see featured in the OnePlus Two. The video should be shot in at least 1080p and uploaded on YouTube. OnePlus will choose 10 finalists from the roster. Among those 10 finalists, the OnePlus One community will vote for one winner, while OnePlus will choose another winner.
The three winners for the two One plus Two contests will then have the chance go to Hong Kong, all expenses paid, and be among the first to experience the OnePlus Two. There is even a teaser activity where the winners will have a role in the launch of the OnePlus Two. Entries for the two contests have to be sent in until June 15 to qualify.
The release date of the OnePlus Two is also awaited by those who own the OnePlus One. Apart from being the latest version of the smartphone, the latest updaste to Android 5.1 for the OnePlus One will only be released after the OnePlus Two becomes available in the market.
OnePlus has officially announced that the reason for this is the limited manpower of the team working on the update, reported Android Authority. Once the newest smartphone is released, that will be the time that an OTA for the OxygenOS community build will come.
However, the wait may not be as bad, considering that the expected release date of OnePlus Two has been hinted sometime during the second or third quarter of this year. This is supported by the teaser contests that are being held by the brand. Given the timelines of the newly announced contest, there is a big chance that the OnePlus Two will arrive during Q3.
