Chris Pratt's "Jurassic World" co-star Bryce Dallas Howard has recently dished on her role Claire in the Colin Trevorrow film, which premiered on June 12, Friday. Among the things she mentioned were Beyonce and high heels.
In "Jurassic World," Pratt's character Owen mocks Claire for the impractical outfit she is still wearing when he leads her out into the dinosaur-infested park in search of her nephews. In response, Claire ties her blouse around her waist but keeps her high heels on.
To emphasize that Claire chooses to keep her high heels on, Trevorrow decided to have the shoes in a slow motion close-up shot. In an interview with The Daily Beast, Howard said for her, the heels were a metaphor.
What Howard saw in Claire's footwear choices, according to the actress, is strength. She said she really likes the fact that "the thing that would have been considered the biggest handicap" for her "Jurassic World" character "ultimately ends up being her strength and that's those heels."
"First of all, I just believe that she's one of those women who say they walk so much better in heels," Howard explained. "I'm absolutely not one of those women, Beyoncé, for example. But I thought she's definitely that person."
Meanwhile, the University of Waterloo students can take a course called "Gender and Performance," which focuses on Beyoncé's most recent album.
In an interview with 570 News, the University of Waterloo's Professor Naila Kaleta-Mae has nothing but praises for Beyonce. She said, "We have an international, mega, superstar of her stature, who is a woman, who is black."
