"Dark Horse" actress Mia Farrow took to Twitter to express her reaction to the controversy involving Rachel Dolezal. She implied that since Caitlyn Jenner is widely accepted as trans woman, the Spokane NAACP president may also be accepted as "trans-ethnic."
"We accept that a person can identify as transgender. Could 'trans-ethnic' be a real thing? #RachelDolezal," Farrow tweeted on June 12. Known to be Selma Blair and Christopher Walken's "Dark Horse" co-star, the actress was born in Los Angeles, Calif., of an Australian father and an Irish mother.
Meanwhile, Jenner was generally welcomed by the public when she officially introduced herself as a trans woman and even making a record as the person who had one million Twitter followers in the shortest time.
On Jan. 14, the NAACP Spokane chapter's Facebook page posted a photo of Dolezal with a black man identified as her father. When Jeff Humphrey of KXLY4 recently asked Dolezal about the photo, the NAACP official apparently refused to directly answer the question.
"I was wondering if your dad really is an African American man," Humphrey asked, to which Dolezal answered, "That's a very ... I mean, I don't know what you're implying."
When Humphrey asked her if she is African American, Dolezal replied, "I don't understand the question."
"Are your parents, are they white?" Humphrey asked but failed to get answers about Dolezal's race and ethnicity as she walked off-camera.
Two people, Larry Dolezal and Ruthanne Dolezal, eventually came out and claimed that they are the parents of the Spokane NAACP president. They revealed to reporters that they are Caucasian and they did not understand why she had been lying about her race and ethnicity.
Larry told Buzz Feed News, "She's our birth daughter and we're both of European descent. We're puzzled and it's very sad."
