Marshall Bruce Mathers, 42, famously known as Eminem, has set another record as the first artist to receive two RIAA Digital Single Diamond Awards after breaking the 10 million marking sales and streams mark.
The RIAA's Gold & Platinum Program was officially launched in 1958 and expanded in 1999 to include a Diamond Award honoring sales of 10 million or more copies of an album or single in the United States. In 2013, music streams were added to the RIAA's Digital Single Award, Billboard reported.
In a statement, RIAA chairman and CEO Cary Sherman said they are delighted to recognize Eminem with the milestone as the first artist to earn two RIAA Digital Diamond Awards.
"This singular achievement, earning a Diamond Award on two separate digital songs, is unparalleled, and we congratulate him on forever etching a mark in Gold & Platinum Program history," Sherman said.
Eminem achieved the milestone with "Not Afraid," a track from his 2010 album "Recovery" and 11-time multi-platinum single "Love the Way You Lie" featuring Rihanna , which has sold 4.5 million copies in the U.S. and over 10 million copies across the globe.
Aside from his two RIAA Digital Single Diamond Awards, Eminem has two 10-time multi-Platinum Diamond certified albums, which are the 2000 album "The Marshall Mathers LP" and the 2002 album "The Eminem Show."
Meanwhile, Eminem's daughter Hailie Jade Mathers has graduated from high school with a 3.9 point average. Before going to college to take a psychology or entrepreneurship degree, the Detroit rapper's daughter was crowned homecoming queen at her Michigan high school.
