Germany continues its 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup onslaught as it battles fellow powerhouse France in the quarterfinals. The game will be held at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Canada on Friday, June 26.

Silvia Neid's girls started the knockout stages in the same way they did the group qualifications by lambasting world no. 5 Sweden, 4-1. Forwards Anja Mittag and Célia Šašić led the first half onslaught that put the Germans on top, 2-0, as per BBC Sport. Šašić made it 3-0 with another goal before Linda Sembrant put the Swedes on the board. Midfielder Dzsenifer Marozsán         found the back of the net at the 88th minute to seal the score.

Meanwhile, France is also coming off a huge 3-0 victory over an overmatched South Korean team. Forward Marie-Laure Delie scored two goals while midfielder Élodie Thomis had one en route to the romp.

Philippe Bergeroo hopes to carry the momentum of their win against the Koreans in this knockout match versus Die Nationalelf. As always, Germany would rely on their overpowering offense to control the tempo of the match.

If ever the French girls would upset the Germans, then it would be tough to bet against them to go all the way in this tourney, as reported by ESPN.

Prediction: World no. 1 Germany will escape with a 2-1 decision against world no. 3 France. The German girls are on a mission to win the cup and it is tough to see any team who can stop them from doing so.
