Google is about to release one of the most anticipated button the email world, the "Undo Send" button is coming.
The said button is one of the longest "experimental" periods of any product feature. The life-saving button of the email will be present on the main settings on the web version of Gmail. The California-based tech company first introduced the Undo Send feature in Gmail in March 2009, giving an impression to the users that it was still under an experiment.
The feature stayed in the Gmail's Labs section, a place where Google tries out new features. Users have to switch on manually the feature to work. The Undo Send feature allows the users to set a time after sending an email to change their mind, seeing the option to reverse it on the screen between 5 and 30 seconds, depending on what you've indicated in the settings, Venture Beat reported.
"Undo Send" can be switched on by clicking the Gear icon and then Settings appearing the option of "Enable Undo Send," along with a drop-down that lets you customize the cancellation period for the feature: 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds. It delays the sending process of email compared to pulling back email from the ether. Upon clicking the send button, a small box will pop out near atop the screen, and then clicking "undo" will return to the email window, according to CBS Philly.
Google remind the users that "Undo Send" button does rescue everyone from typo errors or if necessary details are needed on the email body before sending it out on the proper recipient.
