According to reports, the software company Samsung will not be releasing a Galaxy Note 5 Edge variant. Instead, the company will launch the Galaxy S6 Plus along with the Galaxy Note 5.
It is believed that the Galaxy Note 5 will launch during IFA Berlin 2015, which happens in September. In 2014, the Galaxy Note 4 introduced at IFA 2014 Berlin, alongside the Galaxy Note Edge. Rumors are doing the rounds that there will be a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 without a corresponding Note Edge launch this year, Softpedia reported.
The rumor that there will not be a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Edge may be due to the fact that Samsung is gearing up to release the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. The device is believed to be a 5.7-inch version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and may release next month.
Earlier reports said that the Note Edge variant will not have S Pen functionality which makes it different from the Galaxy S series, according to Phone Arena. Doing away with the S Pen feature would be a big risk for Samsung as the Note device owners are used to it all these years.
According to reports, the Galaxy Note 5 will feature a new Exynos 7422 processor, 4,100 mAh battery, 5.89-inch 2K-resolution touchscreen and the signature S-Pen stylus. Also, the device will have an 8 MP front snapper and a 16 MP main camera. The Galaxy Note 5 will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system with TouchWiz.
Reports also suggest that the Galaxy Note 5 will possibly feature the new USB 3.1 type-C connector for faster data transfer speeds and better compatibility.
