Google Nexus 5 (2015) release date is coming near and one question that may come to the minds of followers of smartphone market is whether the upcoming smartphone will affect Nexus 6 sales or not.
The users of Nexus 6 may not be interested in purchasing the smaller handset. However, Nexus 5 (2013) owners may choose for an upgrade.
It is expected that Google Nexus 5 (2015) will release in the month of October or November by which time Motorola-made Nexus 6 will finish one year cycle in the market. The new Nexus smartphone will be made by the elecronics company LG.
The Nexus 6 is not lagging behind other smartphones in the market in terms of features. However, according to several reports, Nexus 6's large screen (5.96-inch) is the reason for its poor sales. Maybe this is why the tech giant Google has decided to come up with the new Nexus 5 smartphone with a smaller screen.
Reports suggest that poor response to Motorola Nexus 6 could be because of its huge screen size; however, large could be fine once users are used to it. Furthermore, people who have used large screen smartphone are unlikely to go for a mobile phone with smaller screen.
According to reports, the Nexus 5 (2015) will feature a 5.2-inch display, which is smaller than Motorla Nexus 6. The two smartphones belong to different categories as far as the size of the screen is concerned; therefore, they are not likely to eat into each other's revenue.
According to the Android Pit, 2015 Nexus 5 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and a 2,700mAh battery.
The Nexus 6 features a 5.96-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1,440x2,560 pixels. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 clocked at 2.7GHz. It boasts a 3,220mAh battery and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Nexus 6 has 32GB or 64 GB internal memory and 3 GB RAM. In addition, the device has 2 megapixels front snapper and 13 megapixels main camera, ValueWalk reported.
