With Pokemon's increasing popularity in both role playing video games and trading card games, new Pokemon Visa cards have been released in Japan. Aside from being authentic and having a lovable look, the recently released Pokemon Visa cards may unveil Pikachu's surname.

The new Visa cards, in three various designs, have been issued through a partnership in Japan with financial conglomerate Sumitomo Mitsui, according to Rocket News 24.

One of the three Visa cards features Pikachu with a background that has a same color to the electric mouse Pokemon. Pikachu looks very friendly and highly energetic in the said design. For curious fans, Pikachu's surname is Pokemon, according to the card design.

Among those who will sign up for the credit card until Oct. 31, one will have a chance to be visited by Pikachu at his home on Dec. 25.

Aside from the Visa card with the iconic Pikachu design, two prepaid Visa cards have also been released.

The first one features Pikachu holding a gift and along with him are several gifts wrapped in red, blue, green, and yellow covers, the colors of the first generation Nintendo video games. The other prepaid Visa card is a special edition and features Pikachu and Hoopa from "Pokemon the Movie: Hoopa and the Clash of Ages," as per Kotaku.

All three cards show the card number and the month and year of validity at the center of the card. The cardholder's name can be seen at the lower left side of the card while the Visa logo can be seen at the lower right side of the card.

The credit limit for the Pokemon Visa is between 100,000 and 800,000 yen (US$800 and $6,400), which is dependent on the cardholder's credit ranking.
