"Southern Charm" season 3 is reportedly cancelled because of poor ratings. Following the rumors of Thomas Ravenel leaving the show, it was said that the Bravo TV executives have decided to put an end to the reality series.
According to Bustle, without Ravenel and Kathryn Dennis' story to keep the series interesting, it would come as no surprise if the show got cancelled. It was said that their on and off again relationship had been one of the highly anticipated scenes in the show. When Ravenel announced on Facebook that he will not be returning for season 3, many fans speculated that the show is over.
The reality star was reportedly upset with Bravo for filming a political engagement which was supposed to be a private affair. He added that he was disappointed at Bravo for editing the scenes to make it more dramatic to attract viewers. In the now deleted Facebook post, he claimed that he is leaving "Southern Charm" for good. Without Ravenel, it was said that the producers were having second thought about renewing the series.
As La Late News pointed out, the less than stellar ratings of the show could be another factor for the series' alleged cancellation. The show's ratings may have gone up when Ravenel and Dennis broke up, however, the producers were reportedly uncertain if their relationship could keep the fans' interest come season 3. The outlet added that "Southern Charm's" ratings have "gotten worse" over the past weeks. It was said that the producers would have to find another angle as the series was going downhill.
