While developers are busy tinkering with the Android M operating system, rumors are surfacing saying that the new OS from Google will be released alongside a new Google Nexus device. The most talked about is the Nexus 5 2015.
According to BGR, industry analysts are expecting Google to release two Nexus devices in 2015. One of these devices is the 5-inch LG Nexus 5 2015 and a yet to be revealed phablet from Chinese manufacturer Huawei.
Google usually releases a new Nexus model at the fourth quarter of every year. However, the looming release of Android M has led analysts to speculate that a new Nexus smartphone will be released alongside Google's new operating system.
According to Geek Snack, the Nexus 5 2015 will be Android M's flagship device. Speculations about Android M claim that the operating system will be released sometime at the end of August. If this is true, Google will be breaking its annual trend of releasing a major update which is usually done between October and November.
The rumored LG Nexus 5 2015 is codenamed Bullethead. Some of the rumored specs include a 5-inch display with Full HD or Quad HD resolution. Either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 or Snapdragon 808 for its processor backed by 3GB of internal memory. For storage options, the device will come in three variants; 32GB, 64GB and 128 GB.
Since the smartphone will be running on Android M, it is expected that it will have support for wireless and fast charging features, fingerprint scanner and USB Type C. The Nexus 5 2015 is also rumored to be made of carbon fiber material.
The Huawei phablet on the other hand is codenamed Angler. It is rumored to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 5.7-inch display and 3500 mAh battery. Huawei has previously confirmed that it is working with Google in designing a new Nexus device.
