Yahoo and Google are currently conducting tests for a possible future partnership again. The two companies confirmed that they are in the process of tests where Google will supply ads search to Yahoo search engine.
According to SEO Book, a company that specializes in search engine optimization, there are several search results in Yahoo that shows powered by Google.
Yahoo spokeswoman said that they run some test with their variety of partners from time to time for the best absolute experience of Yahoo users and that there is nothing further to share at this moment. Meanwhile, Google ignores the request to make a comment on Yahoo's statement, CNet reported.
Yahoo just had a 10-year agreement with Microsoft to power its search ads result which includes revenue sharing in 2009. This deal will give Yahoo more flexibility to enhance the search experience across desktop and mobile devices. Yahoo! can also partner with other companies to power its search platform considering 51 percent of all search results are still provided by Microsoft's Bing.
Meanwhile, Google showed a potential interest in moving in towards Microsoft territory but can not sit well with the Washington-based tech giant.
Google shares at least 71 percent in search results in the market and is the most popular search engine in the world. In the United States, Google shares 64.4 percent , Bing has 10 percent and Yahoo has 9.6 percent share.
In 2008, Yahoo and Google ended up signing an agreement but the Department of Justice blocked it for antitrust reasons. The landscape has changed in several years now, and this possible partnership is evident with ongoing search tests.
