The large tablet has long been rumored since early last year, but Apple has not officially confirmed its existence, although various leaks already surfaced online.

iPad Pro is purported to pack 12.9 to 14 inches screen panel with 2,732 x 2,048 pixel resolution and the familiar 4:3 aspect ratio and 264 pixel density. According to Taiwanese media Tech News, Apple will reportedly tap Sharp and Samsung to supply the large 12.9 inch displays. The report said that Sharp will be the primary supplier of the display, while Samsung will come in as support. Both companies reportedly submitted their samples to Apple last month.

While other iPad tablets run with iOS operating system, the iPad Pro will simultaneously run with iOS and OS X El Capitan, according to Cult of Mac. This hinted that the tablet will be a hybrid device and will cater features of both a tablet and a notebook or laptop.

Meanwhile, iPad sales continue to decline prompting Apple to release a game changer this year and to re-establish iPad as a "must have" device. Other rumored features of iPad Pro are A9 processor, Type-C USB port, a special stylus, NFC, and Force Touch technology.
