Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release may not happen soon as the tech giant will reportedly let go some of its employees.
According to Seeking Alpha, Microsoft will go through another round of job cuts to reduce its alleged excessive work force. The company will reportedly use lesser employees to cut corners and take care of Microsoft's various business units like Bing, Skype, Office Business Intelligence, Azure and Surface Pro. Lesser employees also means higher profits.
It is unconfirmed if this is part of the changes to be made under the new leadership. Satya Nadella recently took over as the chief executive of Microsoft replacing Steve Balmer and he wrote a letter to Microsoft employees explaining his plans for fiscal year 2016. The letter contained inspirational and uplifting words that aim to boost the morale of the employees as well as explaining the adoption of the new "One Microsoft" approach.
Geek Wire got hold of the letter and posted some parts of it. Specifically, it stated, "We will need to innovate in new areas, execute against our plans, make some tough choices in areas where things are not working and solve hard problems in ways that drive customer value."
Although Nadella did not specifically name the areas, it is speculated that Microsoft will axe Windows Phone and Surface lines.
It was previously reported that Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release will take place on July 29 alongside the release of Windows 10. There are reports claiming that the Surface Pro 4 launch was pushed back in 2016.
Meanwhile, some of the purported features of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 are: 12-inch screen display with 2K pixel resolution, Intel Skylake processor, stylus, and USB Type-C port. Just like the previous Microsoft Surface Pro 3, the device will sport a keyboard accessory that will transform the device into an ultra-portable laptop.
