Samsung's likely attempt to merge the design cues of the Galaxy S6 with the upcoming Note 5 has led many to speculate if that amounts to sacrificing the largely functional attribute of the latter over everything else.
The Note series has always stood for functionality over form and has a committed user base comprising of professionals and business folks. However, new leaks point to Samsung carrying forward many of the design elements introduced with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge for use in the upcoming Note 5. This includes the angular lines of the S6, speakers accommodated along the bottom, the aluminium frame and rear glass build, as well as an enhanced fingerprint sensor, Forbes reported.
While all of this should enhance the Note 5, many opine that these changes can make the Note 5 loose its individuality vis-s-vis the Galaxy S series of flagship smartphones and seem more of a big brother to the S6 range.
It is certain that the stylus will be there along with its range of stylus optimized apps though many have expressed their scepticism if it is going to retain its appeal as productivity oriented even when given a stylish makeover.
As for other rumors, a slew of recent leak of a few cases believed to be that of the Note 5 has provided us with a few insights as to what the Note 5 could be like. From what can be made out, the new Note 5 will have a rear mounted heart beat sensor along with a camera with the flash placed alongside.
Other holes along the bottom of the case points to them being for the stylus, the charging slot, audio jack as well as the speakers, Phone Arena reported. Romania based retailer Mobile Direct with a history of several accurate predictions is even stated to have listed the Note 5 cases on its site.
