There are only few smartphones like the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 Edge, and the Galaxy Note 4 that can threaten the popularity of the iPhone 6. The iPhone 6S is rumored to come with new and improved features. Hence, the unannounced iPhone 6S is expected to be even more popular than the predecessor model.
Here is a comparison between the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6 to find out whether the newer features on the former model is good enough to upgrade to it:
Force Touch Technology Enabled Display
Force Touch technology is the most promising feature of iPhone 6S. It will allow the touchscreen display of the device to distinguish between hard presses and lighter taps and accordingly perform tasks. The iPhone 6 lacks this feature.
Stronger Build
The slim profile of 6.9 mm of iPhone 6 was heavily criticized as many users reported that the handset could bend easily. Hence, the chassis of the newer model will be built with 7000 Series aluminum.
The usage of new metal chassis indicates that it will be 60 percent stronger than predecessor model. Since Apple is introducing Force Touch on the iPhone 6S, the thickness of the device will be 0.2 more than that of the iPhone 6, Mac Rumors reported.
Upgraded Camera
The previous iPhone come with 8 MP camera. However, the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus are rumored to house an upgraded 12 MP rear camera. It will come with features like slow-motion video shooting at 240 fps and 4K video recording, Forbes reported.
The selfie camera on the iPhone 6 is of 1.2 MP. On the next generation iPhone, the front-facing camera will be bumped to 5 MP.
Better Performance Prowess
The iPhone 6 comes with an A8 chip that features a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor supported by 1 GB of RAM. The newer iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus are heavily speculated to come with A9 chip along with 2 GB of RAM.
Faster LTE Connectivity
The iPhone 6 come with a Cat. 4 LTE modem onboard which produces delivers download and upload speeds of 150 Mbp and 50 Mbps, respectively. However, the newer iPhone 6S will be featuring a better Cat. 6 LTE modem that offers faster download speeds of 300 Mbps and upload speeds of 150 Mbps.
New Color Variant
The Apple iPhone 6S is expected to come in a new color option of rose gold or pink. Currently, the iPhone 6 is available in colors like silver, gold and gray.
Some rumors suggest that the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus will be announced on Sept. 11 and it will release on Sept. 18. However, other rumors indicate that the iPhone 6S release date is set for Sept. 25.
