The Samsung Galaxy A8 hands-on photos have been revealed by a Chinese website. The USP of the device is that it boasts a slim profile of 5.9 mm. Hence, it is the slimmest smartphone ever made by Samsung. It measures 158 x 76.77 mm.
As far as the specs of the device are concerned, the handset is rumored to be featuring a huge 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with support for full HD resolution. The home button of the device will also function as a fingerprint scanner, PC Online reported.
Samsung has included Snapdragon 615 chipset on the Galaxy A8 that will be supported by 2 GB of RAM. The native storage on the device will be 16 GB. As of this writing, it is not known whether it will support external storage.
The midrange Galaxy A8 is expected to ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop onboard overlaid with the most recent TouchWiz UI. It will come with a 16 MP camera featuring Samsung's very own ISOCELL LSI3P3 camera sensor. The front-facing camera will be of 5 MP, Sam Mobile reported.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 will support LTE connectivity. Even though the Galaxy A8 is the thinnest Samsung smartphone; it is packed with a huge battery of 3,050 mAh capacity.
Since a lot of details of the Galaxy A8 have been revealed, the handset is expected to get officially unveiled soon. On release, the handset is expected to carry a price tag of about $500. The Galaxy A8 is expected to first release in China and later on it will come to western markets.
