All-Star big man Amar'e Stoudemire is reportedly being pursued by the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, and Phoenix Suns this offseason to fill up each teams' frontcourt needs.
After missing out on LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love, and DeAndre Jordan, the Lakers are reportedly not giving up on shoring up their frontline and are now targeting the 13-year veteran.
Despite acquiring free agent power forward Brandon Bass on Monday, Byron Scott's frontcourt is still thin with only Julius Randle, Tarik Black, and Robert Sacre in live contracts so far.
According to Lakers Nation, Stoudemire is "still a solid veteran" who Scott can use off the bench. The 32-year-old could still put up decent numbers after averaging 10.8 points and 3.7 rebounds in only 16 and a half minutes a night in 23 games for Dallas last season.
Meanwhile, the Clippers are also in need of frontcourt depth especially after Jordan, their defensive anchor, bolted out of L.A. to join the Mavs.
Bleacher Report said that Stoudemire and superstar point guard Chris Paul are close friends and he would be a welcome addition to the team.
Aside from Stoudemire, Doc Rivers is also reportedly looking at free agent center JaVale McGee to possibly replace Jordan in the starting lineup.
The last team that is reportedly targeting Stoudemire is Phoenix. The 6-foot-10, 245-pound power forward played the first eight years of his career with the franchise and they are arguably his best years.
Teamed up with legendary point guard Steve Nash, the duo reached the Western Conference Finals two times, in 2005 and 2010.
