The latest “Big Bang Theory” season 9 spoilers revealed that Sheldon and Amy may not actually end up together. Mayim Bialik, who plays Amy Farrah Fowler on the hit CBS series, hinted that Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) was not about to propose, contrary to what fans assumed, in the season 8 finale.
In an interview with Los Angeles Times, Bialik said that viewers should not jump to conclusion based on what they saw in the last episode. The actress hinted that the ring may have just been given to Sheldon by his mom and he was just planning to give it to Amy as a gift. She also pointed out that although it was difficult for Amy to break up with Sheldon, she had to do it because their relationship was going nowhere.
It was said that some fans were disappointed with how Amy decided to end things. They held that she should have broken up with Sheldon personally rather than via Skype. Bialik, however, insisted that given their relationship dynamic and their personalities, breaking up virtually may not be too far off.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, "Big Bang Theory" series creator Steve Molaro said that the season 9 is going to be very important for Sheldon and Amy. He said that after five years of dating, the couple must figure out how they want their relationship to move forward. Amy was reportedly tired of waiting for Sheldon to make his move. She is reportedly tired for always competing for his attention. On the other hand, Sheldon believes that he has changed a lot of his ways for Amy.
