The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is expected to release in September with high-end specs. Sony is also speculated to release the Xperia Z5 in the same month this year.
The Galaxy Note 4 was announced at the IFA 2014 tech show and during the same platform, while the Japanese tech giant had announced the Xperia Z3. This year, the Galaxy Note 5 and the Xperia Z5 are also pegged to release during the upcoming the IFA 2015 tech show.

Dimensions and Display
Recent speculations reveal that the Galaxy Note 5 will sport a slim profile of 9 mm and it will measure 153.4 x 77.3 mm. The Note 5 will boast a premium appeal as it is expected to wear on the glass and metal combination chassis like the one found on the Galaxy S6. However, there is no information available on the measurements of the Xperia Z5, but it is known that Sony will yet again stick to OmniBalance design on the device, Phone Arena reported.
The Galaxy Note 5 is speculated to feature a 5.67 inches Super AMOLED display with support for Quad HD resolution, Sam Mobile reported. The exact size of the Xperia Z5's display is not known yet. However, the newer Xperia model is also going to carry Quad HD display as Sony has already introduced Quad HD screen on Xperia Z4V aimed for U.S. customers.
Processor, RAM and Storage
The Galaxy Note 5 will be powered by the new Exynos 7422 chip. It will feature the CPU, the graphics and the 4 GB RAM, LTE modem and native storage of on the same chipset.
On the other hand, the Xperia Z5 is expected to arrive with Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4 GB of rAM onboard. The details of the internal storage of Xperia Z5 are currently unavailable. The Snapdragon 820's processor is known for producing a processing speed of up to 3 GHz.
Camera, Special Features And Battery
Speculations indicate that the Galaxy Note 5 will feature a 16 MP camera and an 8 MP selfie camera. The Xperia Z5 is expected to house a 21 MP Sony Exmor RS IMX230 CMOS sensor. It will be able to support 4K video shooting.
The Galaxy Note 5 is expected to house a new home-baked LTE modem that is codenamed as Shannon. Apart from the usual connectivity features, both the devices are going to arrive with USB Type-C slot onboard.
The Xperia Z5 promises robust security as it is speculated to feature Ultrasonic Sense ID fingerprint scanner from Qualcomm. The fingerprint sensor on the Note 5 is expected to come embedded in the Home button. Also, the Note 5 will be blessed with an improved S-Pen stylus that can be ejected automatically from its compartment.
The newer all-in-one Exynos 7422 chipset will allow Samsung to add a larger battery of 4,100 mAh battery capacity. The Sony Xperia Z5 is expected to house an even bigger 4,500 mAh battery.
