Ben Affleck To Remain An Involved Dad Notwithstanding Divorce with Jennifer Garner

The marital collapse of Hollywood's A-list couple, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, continues to baffle many people, yet close friends of the two celebrities knew all along there was trouble in paradise. What Affleck and Garner still share is a commitment to be involved parents to their three kids.

Affleck, 42, has been very protective of his children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel, aged nine, six, and three respectively. He has even batted for legislation to keep the nosy paparazzi at a certain distance from his kids. The kids have also grown up with a 'present father' notwithstanding his busy schedule as an actor and director.

The "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" actor has been spotted in the not-so-distant past taking his brood to the beach, eating out, and doing other parent duties. Affleck's parents divorced when he was a kid and he grew up without a father, so he did not want his kids to through the same situation of having an absentee dad. The main reason Affleck opted to pull away from his family was because he felt dejected in his marriage, People reported.

Garner, who turned 43 last April, has been mum on her husband's flaws that may have prompted her to agree to a divorce.  Those close to the couple say the Affleck and Garner grew apart and had irreconcilable differences; the least they wanted to do was create a tense atmosphere for their kids.

News have circulated that Affleck's vices, notably gambling and drinking, drove his wife away. However, Hollywood insiders countered it was his being a neglectful husband that was the main issue that eventually led to the split, TMZ reported.

With Affleck's numerous film projects, keen observers noted that Garner felt ignored. It will be noted that Affleck has always heaped praises about his wife, describing her as amazing and extraordinary as a mom. Unfortunately, he has had to deal with the huge price of success, which is losing her.
