The highly anticipated next title in the “Elder Scrolls” franchise, “Elder Scrolls 6” will more likely be released as soon as March 2016.
Bethesda and ZeniMax Studios are expected to follow the traditional launch schedule - four to five years between every “Elder Scrolls” game, and launch the upcoming title by next year, Christian Today reported.
As per the developer’s release pattern, “Elder Scrolls: Morrowind” was launched in 2002, with “Oblivion” following in 2006, while “Skyrim” saw a 2011 release. This lends weight to reports suggesting the “Elder Scrolls 6” release in 2016.
VP of marketing at Bethesda Pete Hines also hinted at a late release date, possibly next year or early 2017, stating that the developer will concentrate only on quality and not quantity and make sure everything is noteworthy.
“We’re not the sort of publisher that focuses on ‘what’s our 25 titles for 2015′. We do smaller stuff, we don’t publish to scale, we try to publish to quality. Make sure everything we do is noteworthy. Our approach to that hasn’t differed,” Hines told The Telegraph in an interview.
The “Elder Scrolls 6” is said to be named “Argonia,” at the time of its release, while rumor has it that it will land with the name “Redguard,” with the debate for title still going.
Bethesda trademarked the name “Redguard,” the same year “Elder Scrolls: Skyrim” was released. This falls perfectly in line with the developer’s tradition of trademarking the game titles. “Redguard” is reportedly an active and constantly renewed trademark, and is also the only TES related trademark that is not inactive or in use with a previously released game. This in fact points to a trademark for the “Elder Scrolls 6” title, according to Cross Map.
Nevertheless, Bethesda is yet to officially confirm anything related to “Elder Scrolls 6.”
