If reports are anything to go by, the software giant Google and the Chinese mobile manufacturer Huawei will launch a Nexus Android smartphone this fall.
According to The Information, Huawei is working on the smartphone which is said to be planned for fall. If rumors turn out to be true, Huawei would be the first Chinese manufacturer to work with Google on a Pure Google smartphone.
Since 2010, Google has teamed up with Motorola, HTC, LG, ASUS and Samsung for its Nexus devices. Huawei is reportedly one of Google's most trusted partners in selling devices powered by Android software.
So far, the tech giant Google has released one new Nexus smartphone every year; however, 2015 could mark a first for the company and see the release of two new Nexus smartphones.
According to several reports, one smartphone is made by LG and the other made by Huawei. The LG smartphone will allegedly feature a 5.2-inch display, while Huawei will manufacture a bigger 5.7-inch Nexus phablet, according to The Verge.
Also, the Huawei Nexus would possibly be similarly priced to the Nexus 6, which was more costly than past Nexus smartphones.
According to The Information, Huawei could help Google create a mobile app store for China. Google has faced serious restrictions in China due to government regulations, but the partnership with the Chinese manufacturer could open some new doors.
For Huawei, this collaboration with Google could mean more possibilities to enhance the presence and success of its products in the West. Reports suggest that Google will help Huawei sell its Android Wear smartwatch in the western market.
