T-Mobile CEO John Legere recently announced that he hates limits, barriers and rules, so T-Mobile launched the very first wireless carrier move called Mobile Without Borders, which covers unlimited calling and texting to Canada and Mexico without any extra cost.
Legere believes that communication across borders should be seamless. According to Huff Post, the new uncarrier strategy is just like going to one state to another and still use the same service without any limitations or surprises on the bill.
According to Legere, unlike AT&T and Verizon, this new T-Mobile policy is not complicated but easy and friendly. This new plan will be available starting on July 15.
"We've just created one gigantic country in North America, this is about creating a continental experience. The communication across borders should be seamless," Legere said.
T-Mobile's Mobile Without Borders is part of the uncarrier strategy launched a few years ago.The company has been competing to its rivals by dropping data roaming fees, removing two-year contracts and allowing its customers to upgrade their phones for free at any time.
According to eCanada Now, previous T-Mobile plans and users usually charged 69 cents per call if they call from the United States to any borders like Mexico and 49 cents per call for Canada. The new plan is the first and one-of-a kind plan that provides calling to both land lines and mobile phones to the entire continent. This also includes 4G LTE data straight from the plan to all three countries at no additional cost even for prepaid or pay-as-you-go users.
Mobile Without Borders seems to be working to top against its bigger wireless competitors like Sprint. It was reported that T-Mobile is now at third place taking Sprint's place after AT&T and Verizon. T-Mobile also added 2.1 million new customers in Q2 of this year.
