Camille Cosby, the wife of embattled actor Bill Cosby, admits her husband is a womanizer. However, she disagrees with women who accuse him of rape that Bill coerced them to bed. She insists they agreed to have sex and take drugs.

The New York Post quotes two people very close to the Cosbys in citing the reaction of Camille to the publication last week of Cosby's deposition that he admitted giving the women Quaaludes before they had sex.

The source said that Camille's standing by Bill in these trying times is proof of her stubbornness. As the business manager of Bill, she bewails how her husband - whom she helped become a star - is being portrayed as a bad guy and monster.

To address these perception issues, Camille held last week a crisis meeting with advisers which resulted in her demanding their PR experts and lawyers to be on top of the situation.

Because of the almost 50 sexual assault accusations against Bill, some of their celebrity friends are dropping him like a hot potato. Actress Jill Scott apologized for her staunch support of the star of "The Cosby Show," while fellow comedian Jimmy Walker called Bill the "O.J. Simpson of comedy."

However, one comedian who has not abandoned Bill despite the flak she is receiving is "Sister Act" star Whoopi Goldberg. Commenting on the backlash on The View on Monday, the actress said, "If I don't get onboard with a lot of stuff that is upsetting people, understand that my real life is much more upsetting that stuff that is happening outside," quotes AOL.

At his HBO show on Sunday night, fellow funny man John Oliver hit Goldberg for defending notorious public personalities, not only Cosby but also Ray Rice and Roman Polanski. On the Today show, director Judd Apatow tried to persuade Goldberg to stop her defense of Bill, saying, "It certainly is time for everybody to wake up and say we should be concerned about the women."

But Michelle Collins came to Goldberg's side when she told INSIDE EDITION that Whoopi is one of the greatest people she knows, although she acknowledges that at times their opinions differ on issues. However, "Once the show is over, the energy is incredible," Collins points out.
