It appears that release date of the Moto X 2015 is fast approaching as details about the rumored device are becoming aplenty, the latest of which are leaked FCC documents that point to a number of handsets and one of which bearing the codename Moto Kinzie.
It should be noted that the alias Moto Kinzie is not exactly new as it surfaced this early July and back then it was supposed to be the working name for another of Motorola's beloved device - the 2015 version of the DROID Turbo. That same Kinzie will reportedly show off the following specs right out of the box:
- A 5.5-inch Quad HD display in 2560 x 1440 screen resolution
- An 8-core Snapdragon 810 processor
- An Adreno 430 graphic engine
- 32GB of internal memory and 3GB of RAM
- A camera system that features a 20MP main shooter and a 4.8MP as secondary
- And Android Lollipop 5.1.1
In the FCC papers that Droid Life has unearthed, the same vital stats were pretty much mentioned with one strange variation. The Kinzie that was earlier reported was then tipped as a Verizon exclusive that it was assumed it'll be the refreshed DROID come launch time.
Now Droid Life is saying that the device will end up as the Moto X 2015 as the docs indicate that Kinzie will get unpack ready to work on major U.S. telcos, which means the device can be used by subscribers of AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon.
In the same set of documents obtained by Droid Life, another device was highlighted with specs slightly different from that of the Moto Kinzie. The blog report offered that this kit could become the Moto G 2015 or even the DROID Turbo though in a bit of stripped down render, likely to be named the DROID Mini.
But what interests really is the Moto Kinzie, which if indeed is designed to be the third Moto X installment would mean that the screen size will be stretched a bit - from 5.2-inch as earlier thought to 5.5-inch.
The Moto Kinzie also supports the prevailing belief that the Moto X 2015 will touchdown in more than one model. There will be a regular build, a phablet kind at 5.7-inch and a Moto X Sport that as the name suggests will be for the rugged users. It is expected that the latter model will come with proofing features such as protection against scratches, drops or shocks and liquid or water intrusion.
There are reports that say the Moto X 2015 could be announced in July or August but the actual release date will not happen until September this year, likely coinciding with the 2015 Berlin IFA gadget showcase that kicks off on the first day of the month.
