Game developer Scott Cawthon announced on Monday that the sequel to "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" PC version will be released on August 8, which is a bit earlier than the previously announced date which is on the Halloween.
The new release date for the game commemorates the series' first anniversary. The developer will be offering free update of the game with extra content on the day of Halloween, making it special as part of the anniversary celebration. A game trailer will also be launched next weekend, Game Spot reported.
The upcoming trailer of "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" is titled "Five Nights At Freddy's 4 Trailer" and will show the gameplay footage for the final chapter of the series. It showcases new mechanics for the game, suggesting that gamers will be able to roam around on different rooms using a map. Gamers can discover possible creatures that may be creeping around in the dark. Just like "Five Nights At Freddy's 2," the main technique in keeping the creatures at bay is using a flashlight.
In addition, the game may take place in a normal house, deviating from the featured restaurants and attractions on previous installment. The gameplay may be intense due to tracking of robots via security camera footage. With the use of limited amount of electricity, players need to take defensive, according to Design & Trend.
The game trailer may possibly show a peek of the characters on previous game, which includes Nightmare Freddy, Plushtrap and Nightmare Bonnie.
Cawthon's announcement also disclosed that Warner Bros. will make a film adaptation of the game. It will be produced by Roy Lee (The LEGO Movie, The Departed), KatzSmith Productions' David Katzenberg, and Seth Grahame-Smith.
