Apple has announced a new iPod Touch powered with iPhone 6 like appearance, 4-inch Retina display, Apple A8 chipset, 8 MP iSight camera, support for Apple Music and many new features.
Sporting a full anodized aluminum construction, the new iPod Touch looks quite similar to the iPhone 6. However, it does not feature the rear antenna lines. It is available in color options such as space gray, silver, gold, pink and blue, Phone Arena reported.
The new iPod Touch comes with a 4-inch screen that supports a Retina resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels. The display produces a pixel count of 326 ppi, Apple announced in a press release.
The 64-bit Apple A8 chipset present inside the new iPod Touch can deliver ten times faster graphics performance. Hence, users will able to enjoy high-end gaming on the device. With M8 motion coprocessor onboard, the iPod Touch doubles up as an intuitive fitness tracker.
The specification of the RAM has not been revealed yet. However, speculations claim that the new iPod Touch contains 1 GB of RAM. The device is enabled with a fingerprint scanner.
Featuring an 8 MP iSight camera, the new iPod Touch houses a FaceTime HD camera on the front for snapping selfies. It comes preloaded with Apple iOS 8. Users of the device will have access to all the newly launched Apple Music service for enjoying streaming music as well as Apple's Beats 1 radio station.
For connectivity, users can rely on Wi-Fi connection on the device. As far as its battery is concerned, the device supports 8 hours of continuous playback of videos and 40 hours of continuous audio playback. Apple claims it is the best iPod Touch ever
In the United States, the new iPod Touch with 16 GB storage is priced at $199 while the 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB variants are priced at $249, $299 and $399, respectively. The device will be available for purchase at the Apple's online store and all the retail outlets.
