Paul Rudd parted ways with carbs and alcohol to prepare for his role as Scott Lang in "Ant-Man." This came as a surprise for many as Rudd has a pub in the basement of his house.
Rudd talked to People that he had never exercised with determination for a particular period of time. However, he revealed that it was easy for him to stick to the plan.
"Everything else about my day kind of had to fit in around the workouts. I was going to be held accountable for it, and there was a reason for doing it," Rudd said.
He didn't consume alcohol and carbs for a year. Moreover, his routine made him do flips and rolls as a part of his gymnastics workout.
Rudd also talked to Variety and stated that when it was revealed that he would be portraying the lead cast in the movie "Ant-Man," many people would have been shocked.
"The majority of my career has been doing comedies, and I was always that guy, so I completely understand. Playing a comic book character is different from anything I have ever done before, and that was a huge appeal to me," Rudd said to Variety.
He added that he wanted to something "unexpected" and he feels grateful that Marvel had faith in him. About the movie "Ant-Man," the actor said that it is an emotional tale with heart, but at the same time it is filled with action sequences.
Rudd revealed that he followed Christ Pratt ("Parks and Recreation) on how to get ready for a superhero movie.
