South Korean tech giant Samsung announced that it will release a newer and more affordable 4K SUHD TV models. The Samsung JS7000 TV line will also be available in standard SUHD.
Samsung said that the company's new 4K SUHD TV will appeal to a wider consumer base due to its affordability. The JS7000 will be available in three variants depending on screen size; 50-inch, 55-inch and 60-inch.
Pricing for the JS7000 4K SUHD 50-inch model starts at $1,299 which is considerably lower compared to some of Samsung's premium models that could fetch a price tag of as much as $20,000.
According to HD Report, all the three models of the JS7000 will be integrated with a Quad-Core Smart TV platform. This technology allow users to stream contents from online sources as long as the TV is connected to the Internet. The Smart TV platform also allow users to open various apps on the TV.
The JS7000 has a 4K display resolution which means that it has four times the resolution of the standard 1080p high definition video. Samsung's 4K SUHD TV models is also capable of High Dynamic Range imaging which means that the TV can render more life-like images by properly adjusting the image's exposure.
According to Ubergizmo, all models of the Samsung JS7000 4K SUHD TV will run on the Tizen operating system.
Samsung Electronics America vice president of TV product marketing Bill Lee said during the announcement, "The JS7000 SUHD TV will allow more people than ever before to enjoy breathtaking picture quality from Samsung's best TV ever."
