After starring in the box-office hit "Furious 7" with the late Paul Walker, Ludacris is set to star in the Lifetime special "Jim Henson's Turkey Hollow." The rapper and actor took to Facebook on July 17, Friday, to share a photo of himself with the Howling Hoodoo, a Bigfoot-like creature.
"Jim Henson's Turkey Hollow" is set to premiere on Nov. 21 on Lifetime, which is partnering with The Jim Henson Company. According to Jim Henson Company CEO Lisa Henson, daughter of the late Jim Henson, the Thanksgiving special is an unproduced gem from their company's archives.
"I have fond memories from my childhood of my father planning and developing this production," Broadcasting & Cable quoted Lisa as saying. "He was delighted by the idea of magical creatures living in the woods and was excited to portray them in a more realistic way than his other well-known puppet characters."
Executive producing "Jim Henson's Turkey Hollow," Lisa was first introduced to the Howling Hoodoo in the 1960s when she and her sister helped their father for a photo session involving the puppets.
As an adult, Lisa rediscovered the puppets, which had to be remade as they were in poor condition. She told Entertainment Weekly that the new ones are a little more high-tech with their updated versions including animatronic components and blinking eyes but still in the same "spirit of the original characters."
After "Jim Henson's Turkey Hollow," Ludacris is said to be appearing in the 2016 film "Sweetwater." It is yet to be confirmed whether or not he will reprise his role as Tej in "Furious 8," which will star Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Tyrese Gibson.
