Google will reportedly treat Android fans to two devices as part of the tech giant's Nexus 2015 release date plans. The company has yet to confirm anything but rumors are widespread that LG and Huawei are the chosen manufacturers.

LG is said to reprise the role it last played in 2013 when the Nexus 5 came out. The same device is suggested as the base-model of the next Nexus, which led many to believe that Google's upcoming signature phone will be called the Nexus 5 2015. But a recent report offered a different scenario - that LG might want a better device to model after its take on the brand.

What will end up as the 5.2-inch LG Bullhead would likely be built around the LG G4 Pro, which to date remains unconfirmed but is already the subject of numerous leaks and speculations.

As for Huawei, rumors have it that the Chinese firm will take charge of the Nexus Angler. And if gadget leaker Evan Blass is to be believed, the device is a monster in the making. Google is providing a phablet-size device in the Angler, which reportedly is a 5.7-inch beast.

Now the question is: Which will prove as the better smartphone? A quick comparison below will perhaps guide Android fans to the answer:

Brand

Next to Samsung, LG is the one of best thing to come out of South Korea and for the past few years the brand became synonymous to quality devices, which include the company's G-labelled flagships and the Nexus 4 and 5. Obviously, LG is no stranger to the Nexus experience and it's hardly unsurprising that many Nexus fans would prefer the brand that was responsible for the beloved Nexus 5.

The assumption is, Google can never go wrong with LG. Either the company will simply pick up where it left with the Nexus 5 or better yet, significantly bump up for the sequel. Huawei, on the other hand, needs to prove its mettle as its track record in the Android device world is mostly a mixed bag.

Specs

According to new information obtained by Phone Arena, the LG Nexus will draw its power from the combo of a Snapdragon 808 chip and up to 4GB of RAM. This implies that the device is more powerful and faster than its predecessor.

But the Huawei Nexus could prove as the better beast as this same driver, per Blass or @evleaks, is all souped up with a Snapdragon 820 chip as the main engine. This could be the same monster CPU that garnered 85,000 points in an AnTuTu benchmark result, the highest score to date that even exceeded that of the Samsung Galaxy S6's.

In this case, the favour is on Huawei as experts would say that one cannot argue with numbers.

Screen size

The LG Nexus is already a phablet with a 5.2-inch screen profile but the Huawei Nexus is stretched even further at 5.7-inch. When choosing between two large-screen phones, the decision might boil down to preference with consideration of these factors - more screen real estate or better handling.

Usability

What will define Nexus 2015 killer features is Android M and for the LG and Huawei kind the menu will be the same. Seen as one of the banner features is fingerprint reader that most experts believe will be located at the rear of both devices. With the feature natively supported by the latest Android version and likely become a key component of Android Pay, the Nexus 2015 will offer a new premium service that was first introduced by Apple and Samsung.

Price

The Motorola Nexus 6 delivered on high-end specifications but the $800 introductory price turned off Android fans. It is likely that Google learned its lessons and offer no more than $500 as starting price for any of the Nexus 2015 models.

It should be noted, however, that LG Nexus on Snapdragon 808 could unbox with a cheaper sticker price if Blass will turn out correct - that Huawei Nexus will boast of the Snapdragon 820 processing chip.

Google is not expected to rollout the Nexus 2015 until October or November this year but a recent report hinted that Android M is scheduled for a late September release date and the upcoming stock Android flagships might be unpacked with the mobile operating system.
